The Hate U Give | Angie Thomas

This book is astounding. Angie Thomas is a beautiful writer, and this book is what the world needs right now. I loved Starr and her relationships. Her story sheds light on casual and systematic racism and the struggles #whiteprivilege ignores. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #readingforgrowthmmd #bookaddressescurrentevents

I love this book even more than the first, and I swear it gets better every time I read it. I love the representation of PTSD and healing, and the idea that one doesn't magically get better after trauma. Feyre continues to prove her badassery and sass, and I love her character development. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #litsyreadinhchallenge #freedbie @jessica #readingforgrowthmmd #over600pages

This is beautiful and heartbreaking. A quick snapshot at the lives of officers on the front lines during WWI, which is not something usually portrayed in this type of literature. Most of the time the story will focus on a soldier's life, but this play shows that being a commanding officer can be just as hard, and filled with just as much death and sadness. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#readharderchallenge #publishedbetween1900and1950 @bookriot

I like war poetry as much as the next person, but this collection is put together extremely well, and highlights the experience of a woman on the home front during WWI, in all aspects of life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #LitsyAtoZauthors @BookishMarginalia #readingforgrowthmmd #bookofpoetry #epicreadsmadlibs #bodypart @EpicReads
