pickThis was my #DoubleSpin for this month, and WOW was it intense! It was incredibly disturbing and most of the time I didn't want to put it down as the main character became more and more unhinged. As with most of the books Jenny Lawson has picked for her Fantastic Strangelings book club, I was left wondering what I had just read, but in a good way.
so-soThis was pretty slow-moving, but it was better than I expected. I didn‘t like the first book I read by this author (can‘t currently recall the title), but I decided to give this a try, anyway. Wow, those twins… something a little (a lot) wrong in their heads. Did not like the twins at all. In fact, none of the characters were particularly likable (oh, Ama‘s likable, but that‘s about it; felt really bad for her, actually). But the story was ok.

#Madness for marshmallows? I picked this book for it‘s title. It was in my cookbook collection but I unhauled it a few years ago to my best friend who is a baker & who makes killer lime-coconut marshmallows that I confess I am a bit mad for. 😋

Poe's main thematic idea in a number of his poems/short stories: madness/obsession with a young woman (usually a dead one, but still); this idea seems to jive with this song.
It struck me as a little amusing when CBS started using a song by Muse as part of the music background for March #Madness but hey why not. 😎
Alas, my school didn‘t advance, but I‘ve attended the conference tournament a couple times and had a good time. 🏀
Fun fact! One of my college classmates was selected in the NBA draft. However, he mostly rode the bench and gave up after one year to become a geologist. 🪨
