Things I definitely don't remember learning in school: that during the Revolutionary War, Long Island, technically Brooklyn, was key in water surveillance of the British fleet. I know there is a Spy Trail across the north shore that we thought about traveling on, but I had no idea this even happened! Even School House Rock left this part out! #LongIslandRocks #lovemyisland
