Pickpick

We found this absolutely riveting book on our apartment block swap shelf. It's a book my partner chose as it's not one that I would have picked myself. While some parts were a little far fetched the story itself was very tense and mostly believable. The anguish of the missing girls mother was conveyed in such away that the anxiety and anger felt by her was effectively passed on to the reader. For edge of the seat reading, it's excellent.👌

This book is about a daughter who goes missing while delivering her paper route on the day of her departure to Florida for a holiday. Her mother calls the police but to no avail and is forced to search for Charlie (Charlotte) herself. It takes place on one day and the book is about her mother searching for her daughter.

EadieB She calls her boyfriend and they search together. Then she finds out her husband lied and he becomes a suspect. I'm not going to tell you what happens next as you will have to read it to find out. If you love suspense with your thriller then you will love this book. (edited) 13mo

Mehso-so

This didn‘t really work for me although there were elements I liked - the setting of Venice and the Gothic novel tones. Mostly though I was left wondering what the point of it all was. It didn‘t feel that suspenseful, the ending fell flat and it‘s one of those where you wish the characters would just communicate! Definitely a good book for the #titlesandtunes #dramaqueen though 👑

This book was a random pick in Waterstones a little while ago, not seen any reviews on it so hoping it‘s a good one. And this song and album by Marina just has a whole #dramaqueen vibe 👸 #titlesandtunes

Cinfhen Can‘t wait to hear about this book! 1y
Cinfhen Not familiar with the song but it looks like a perfect fit 😍 1y

Here‘s my review for a book I DNF‘d.

I started this book. For the first 10 chapters of this book, the story was moving slow and I felt like nothing was happening in the story but it seems like the story is getting interesting now. I‘ve been bailing on books all month but I‘m hoping that I like this one enough to finish it. It‘s great that I‘m learning how to DNF books when I‘m not enjoying them but I also want to finish books. I don‘t just want to bail on books all month.

I couldn‘t decide what book to read next so my wheel spinner picked Palace Of The Drowned. I‘m still trying to choose a book for #theunreadshelfproject monthly prompt of reading a book that I will enjoy. The 5 books I DNF‘d this month were books I thought I would enjoy but I didn‘t. Maybe I should pick something from an author I‘ve read books from before. I just want to finish reading a book.

Bailedbailed

This book was supposed to be the most alike to the Frieda Klein books by the same author. But I‘m just not feeling this. It probably doesn‘t help that I saw that it was due back at the library soon and that I couldn‘t renew it anymore, so I had to read it. Maybe I‘ll try again some time in the future.

TrishB Apart from the Klein series, the others are a bit hit and miss. 2y
AnneCecilie @TrishB That‘s good to know. I‘ve read one other besides the Frieda Klein books and enjoyed that. I guess I just had high expectations to this one. 2y
