This book was over-written, but, once I got used to the author's style, I enjoyed it (if that's even appropriate considering the content). It follows the aftermath of a school massacre through the point of view of the perpetrator's mother, who always knew her son wasn't quite "right". Fascinating with a great twist in the last few pages.

KristenDuck Been many years since I read this one but I remember inhaling it. Also watched the film adaptation. 6y
GidgetsTreasures75 @KristenDuck I saw the movie years ago and it was a tough one. I‘ve always wanted to read the book to get more perspective on the story and I wasn‘t disappointed. It‘s such a devastating story. 6y

I‘m only 12% in and I am very much not enjoying it so far but I am really excited for this book club and I want to try and finish it. People who do finish it mostly said it‘s a slow burn but worth it. We shall see.

A must for every pregnant woman without a single maternal bone in their bodies. The end is harrowing. Don't let anyone tell you the end before you finish it. It will spoil it. The film is nothing like the book. The book is way better. In fact, don't even bother with the film.
