@DebinHawaii #5joysfriday
It‘s Saturday morning in wintery Western Australia, but I have some weekly joys to share:
1. Watching this cormorant find the only patch of sun to dry itself.
2. Waking up to this double rainbow 🌈🌈.
3. Celebrating the start of two weeks holiday with my husband, & my promotion. I‘m a ‘Senior School Psychologist‘ 😁.
4. This sunrise 🌅😍.
5. Plasma donation number 6 for 2024 💛💪.

Wanna share some joy @Rissreads @Jeg ?

Bookwomble Congratulations on your promotion! 😊👏🏻🍾🥂 6mo

This is the second book of poetry I‘ve read by Malcolm Guite—I discovered his poetry in 2020, through a series of sonnets he wrote on the Psalms, which spoke to me so deeply during that time. This collection is likewise full of well-crafted sonnets, these corresponding to the liturgical calendar. There is a series for the Stations of the Cross and one for Advent that were particularly meaningful to me. I‘ll be going back to these again and again.

Purpleness You‘ve sent me down a rabbit trail looking up his poems! I can see I‘m going to have order at least one of his collections. 2y
BarbaraJean @Purpleness 💜 I just love his work! The tagged book is the series on the Psalms that I mentioned. SO good. If you haven't already discovered his blog, take a look: https://malcolmguite.wordpress.com/blog/ He usually posts poems applicable to the day/church season/etc., along with recordings of him reading the poems. I've found it a delight to follow! 2y

1. Exercise obsessed. Always have been. Go to ballet class whenever & wherever. Been dancing since I was 9. I stopped when I was married. No wonder that didn‘t last. 2. Stretching with a 🍷 on 🩰 free nights. Stretching for me takes at least 2 glasses & I can stretch for hrs. 3. I ❤️ a foreign 🎥 & how they never quite end right, that‘s more realistic than Hollywood. Reading the screen keeps me awake. If I lay down I am asleep but only after dark.

Eggs Love the stretching 🙆‍♀️. And yes, I too like the un-happily-forever-after of Fellini et al. 2y

Now to the gate of my Jerusalem,
The seething holy city of my heart,
The Saviour comes. But will I welcome him?

…Jesus, come
Break my resistance and make me your home.
