In Australia we think of the Stolen Generation (where Aboriginal children were systematically taken from their families and placed in institutions or with white families) as being long ago. Brenda Matthews and her siblings were taken in 1973, when she was 2 years old. I am her age. 😢😡 #knowyourhistory #truthtelling

Yep. Another accomplished novel from Scott. This time a contemporary novel about Aboriginal people, Noongars, from the south of Western Australia.

Massacres of Aboriginal people happened here and although this is a fictional account, it is a fascinating examination of varying perspectives: white Australians who‘ve lived on and owned land for generations, and Noongars whose ancestors lived here for 60,000 years.

Colorado Littens, there's a reading/signing for this tonight at 7 at BookBar. I won't be able to make it, but this looks like a great read about the attorney who fought Amendment 2 in the '90's.
