@Kaye #kindlequestions #showyourkindle

Kaye Thanks for answering. A nice selection there. Do you read almost 100 % on Kindle then ? And no wonder you don‘t use the library for ebooks if you have thousands already on your devices ! You own your own library all in one of those small gadgets. Pretty handy. I like the light green cover. Very pretty. 6y
goodbyefrancie @Kaye I usually have a kindle book, an overdrive book, and a physical book going all the time. How I read depends on where I can read. Usually kindle before bed, on flights, or sitting on the porch in the evening, overdrive at work on in the car, and a real book most of the other times. 6y
Kaye I always envy people that can keep multiple books going at once. I‘ve never been able to do that. I‘ve definitely got a one track mind. 6y

1️⃣ A Kindle and a Kobo
2️⃣ A Paperwhite and a Kobo Glo HD respectively.
3️⃣ Daily for both, though more the Kobo than the Kindle.
4️⃣ Nearly 800 on the Kobo and nearly 150 on the Kindle.
5️⃣ No
6️⃣ I don't do audiobooks.
7️⃣ I have auto-wake cases on both.

Kaye Thanks for the answers. I‘ve been curious about the Kobos but have never seen one in person. Are they the ones that have the Walmart ebook cards ? The skin you have looks just like @joscho ‘s 6y
tournevis @Kaye I do not know how to get then in the US. Outside of the US, especially in Europe and if you read in other languages than English, the Kobo and other Europe-based readers are better, because they take epub, which Kindles don't. 6y
Kaye Yea, I think I read someplace they use ePub , and that it possibly goes through Adobe ? I‘m not sure about that part. I‘m pretty tech challenged so not sure how they work. I saw the ebook card things at our Walmart but no Kobos. Not sure if they were sold out or they just hadn‘t gotten them in yet. I think they just made that deal a couple weeks ago to sell them and the ebooks. The cards look a bit like a gift card with the cover of the👇🏼 6y

Kaye Book on it. The husband said they probably just have a code to type in somehow to download the book. So Kobo Glow is like a Paperwhite ? And can you check out library ebooks that are compatible with it ? 6y
tournevis @Kaye Epub can go through Adobe, if it had DRM. Non-DRM cannbe loaded directly. There are books that come on cards and those often have DRM books in epub format. Some even also have moby. They are rare overall though. 99% of my epubs I buy DRM-free from publishers. My Kobo model is extremely similar to a Paperwhite. The big differences are in software. The newer Kobos are a smidge better than current Paperwhites, this month at least. 6y
Kaye Thanks for that. I wasn‘t sure how they worked since I have yet to see one. 6y
tournevis @Kaye FWIW, all e-readers work mostly the same way, except that the Kindles are siloed more than any other, except the Sony ones ten years ago, but no one uses tue Sont readers anymore anyway. 6y
Kaye I had one of the Sonys many years back. They were a real pain to load the books. I‘m glad they‘re so much easier now to use ! 6y

1. Yep!
2. I have the Voyage and in the past I had a PW.
3. Every single day!
4. 306 downloaded on the Kindle and an embarrassing amount on the cloud
5. All the time! It is how I prefer to read my books.
6. Mine doesn‘t have Audible
7. I have a skin and a sparkly sleeve for tossing it in my bag. I have had cases in the past but prefer the way it feels without one.
Oh if you notice the top left corner-he is named Wendell 😂
#kindlequestions

Kaye Thanks for answering the questions Jody. How‘d you choose Wendell ? I named mine Blue. Probably after Blue Calhoun who was a character in a Reynolds Price book titled the same. 6y
JoScho @Kaye lol because it Rhymes! Wendell the Kindle-I‘m a total dork! 6y
Kaye Nothing wrong with that. I haven‘t heard that name in years. There was a kid in our school named Wendell. The only one I think I‘ve ever known. 6y

1. Hundreds, I love free downloads.
2. My husband found a magnetic case that is perfect and he bought me an awesome pocket charger. The kindle itself was a Valentine‘s gift he sent two deployments ago. He buys most of my tech gear.
3. Travel, and laying in bed because the light switch is too far.

1. 956 in the cloud and 227 on the device but in all fairness many of those are my mom‘s because I bought her a Kindle and set up her account and send her books regularly.
2. My glitter sleeve I use to carry my Kindle safely in my purse. Where I go my Kindle goes.
3. I read pretty much exclusively on my Kindle. It is easy to take it everywhere and I love being able to adjust the font size.

1. I had to add - I have 413 books - all purchased- on this kindle. Hence my participation in #MountTBRChallenge!
2. Here‘s my kindle with the skin - the front didn‘t photograph very well but you get the idea. I love the giraffe on the back but never see it! My fave accessory is the cover I use at the beach/pool.
3. I use my kindles pretty much exclusively. It‘s just so convenient!

1: including the cloud, thousands. I did "tidy" up my library on my device itself though so i only have about 20 books that aren't archived on my kindle
2: favorite accessory is my M-Edge purple/burgundy case, it's been just as much a part of my daily life as my antique kindle keyboard has been for the last 6ish years
3: mainly at night bc I only need 1 hand out of the covers ? @Lova #kindlequestions

I don't have a Kindle but I do use Kobo which is really just the Canadian version so I'm going to play 😊
1. Hundreds....probably closer to a thousand or so. I honestly lost count. I've been a user for years and switch the books up often
2. I should buy a cover but I don't have one yet
3. I actually prefer to read on my Kobo. It's just easier, especially in bed.

1️⃣ On the Kobo, 745. On the Kindle, 187.
2️⃣ It was my 1984 cover for my Kobo, but it didn't have smart wake, so I got a plain purple.
3️⃣ If at all possible, I no longer read paper. I prefer the tactile sensation and smell of paper, but it hurts too much to hold a book at all. So e-reader it is.

bibliophiliac Which Kobo do you have? Do you like Kobo or Kindle more? 7y
tournevis @bibliophiliac Kobo Glo 2.0 (love love) and Kindle Paperwhite (almost identical, except in GUI). 7y
bibliophiliac @tournevis Nice! I used to have Kobo and Kindle but then stremlined to Kindle. I loved my Kobos though. They always had even lighting and the feeling of holding them was nice, if that makes sense. Their design was great! 7y
tournevis @bibliophiliac The design of the new Kobo Auras are A.ma.zing. 7y
bibliophiliac @tournevis Very tempting to buy! 7y
