The best I've read in the series so far, by far. Johnson Johnson! Rescuing puppies! Sandford's hit on the well-loved formula of an investigator looking into multiple cases simultaneously that at some points converge; I hope he takes the series forward in the same manner. A lot less casual sexism in this book; hopefully as the publication dates move closer to present day, instances of such will continue to decline. 🤞🏻⚠️mention of animal cruelty
Hell YES, librarians standing up for patrons' privacy!
Sorry Virgil, I'm with them on this one. 🤓
A good friend will always be honest. 🤨🫢
Well that was slightly more absurd than previous books in the series, but a lot less violent, so I'm calling it a bonus!
Tad bit of the Da Vinci Code vibes - running around after an artifact that might reveal a truth contentious to biblical history/ religious beliefs - but mostly a high action mystery per the usual. 1/?
I‘ve been a John Sandford fan for more years than I care to admit. I‘ve read a boatload of the Prey books, following Lucas Davenport‘s career. I even stuck with him through the Flowers novels. I‘ve now read both of the books featuring Letty Davenport (Lucas‘s adopted daughter) but I doubt I‘ll read the next. She‘s a flat character, a pale echo of Lucas, or even Virgil fu*king Flowers . The plot here is foolish with more killing than necessary.
