This is a perfect book for children studying the civil rights movement in older elementary school classrooms. It has every piece of the puzzle that made up this time and will be perfect for a research project!

I love the family ties that are presented in this book. The respect that Tricia has from her grandmother is beautiful.
pickThe dialect and dialogue in this book is extremely special and important for children to read. I love how true it is to how things were said in the south. This book is not an easy concept as it talks about the persecution of minorities, however, the main character Tricia Ann puts a positive spin on her adventures. Truly a must read.
