I read this book years ago, but I have strong memories of this family of missionaries who moved from the United States to the Belgian Congo. It gave me a new perspective (not a positive one)on the role and demands of the job of converting people to believe in Jesus. #jesushrooseveltchrist #outlandishgiveaway

Thank you for this fun giveaway! Fingers crossed!

julesG My pleasure! 7y

Crowded Hours is the autobiography of controversial socialite Alice Roosevelt, who no doubt made her family and friends say "Jesus H. Christ!" on more than one occasion.

Kaye She sounded like she was pretty stubborn and outspoken. Just by the Hissing Cousins book I read. 7y
rubyslippersreads @Kaye That one's on my TBR list. 7y
Kaye It was very good. You couldn‘t help but feel sorry for Eleanor. She had enough trouble without having a cousin acting nasty to her. 7y

I‘m not religious, so I‘m going with this book from my tbr for today‘s #JesusHRooseveltChrist prompt. It has the Jesus, but no Roosevelt as far as I know, though I hear it‘s really funny! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, I use that phrase nearly every day. Claire has had an influence on me, I guess. 😂

Thanks for this really fun little challenge, Julia, and thanks for the chance to win that lovely cowl. 😍

julesG You're welcome! It was interesting to see what books you all came up with. 7y
janeycanuck You should read it! It‘s hilarious. Had me falling off my sofa I was laughing so hard. 7y
Suet624 This is my favorite Moore book. Read it several times and laughed so much. @janeycanuck agreed. (edited) 7y
