For an outsider like me, knowing little about Aboriginal culture, this is a dive in the deep end - you‘re seeing the impact of generations of colonisation, racism, cruelty, without every reference explained to you, the outsider, in a tidy package. It‘s stronger this way.

Centique ...to her family home. Her life is up-ended and her family and ancestral land is under threat. You meet the far flung family, ancestors and their stories make an appearance, pain and sacrifice has to be accounted for, dealt with in the way of this “mob”. It‘s raw and violent and honest and gripping and definitely kick-arse. (trigger warnings here for a couple of things - ask me if you‘re concerned) 5y
