Read this in anticipation of seeing Waters do his standup tonight. Liked this and yes some of this is clearly made up but all the more fun.

Finally finished this book. Been on my shelf for ages #OffTheShelf2023 This was an OK read, but quite frankly I‘m getting a bit tired of these English young men writing about how much they drink, and trying to make every second sentence funny. We get it, but sometimes less is more. Otherwise entertaining to read about friendly Irish people eager to meet the Fridge Man. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Went in to this book with an open mind and really gave it a try, but after reading 96 pages of constant moaning, backhanded comments and the author misconstruing everything that is said to him passing it off as 'wittyness', I can't possibly continue.
It can be hard for foreigners to fully integrate in Japan I don't need to read a whole book about it.
More fascinating travel stories and less moaning would've been ideal as the concept is great.
Something lighter for a change 😊 #Offtheshelf2023 Been on my shelf for ages…
Started this book last night and I'm already hooked. An interesting concept trying to travel across a decidedly reserved country by means of hitchhiking. Lots of 'witty' observations throughout. Looking forward to continuing.
A significant book that discusses how significant (and insignificant) everything is and can be. A fun, novelty read that went by quickly and kept me invested. One of the main takeaways that I feel is important is to celebrate your differences and don‘t settle for normal - who even defines that word anyways? Also, the big author reveal at the end made me gasp, but then after a minute of reflection, was the perfect ending
A library display for Irish American Heritage Month and St. Patrick's Day! Wish I had room for more goodies there. #librarydisplays #displays #Ireland
First book of the year was a good one.
Nice to go to other underrated parts of Japan.
