Pickpick

This was a cute YA graphic novel about Paul who is visiting his brother in Taiwan for the summer. He spends most of his summer on the couch playing video games but decides to venture out to find a video game. He gets lost, makes some friends and has a memorable adventure. Oh to be young again! *the chopsticks were a gift from my sister when she lived in Taiwan for a year. Wish I had visited.

My niece is getting too big for these books, she'll be going to jr. high next fall but I just can't help myself. I'll continue to swap out her book basket with seasonal titles until she says to stop. Some bunny favorites.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks So cute!!! 🐰🐰 6y
vkois88 We swap out seasonally as well... 6y
DaveGreen7777 I still keep the children‘s books I used to read to my niece and nephew when they were kids! 😭 6y
mrp27 @DaveGreen7777 Awww.. Sweet. I don't think I could ever bring myself to get rid of the books either. 6y
mrp27 @vkois88 Its the only way I can fit them in the house! I have so many kids books from my teaching pre school days that I have to store them in plastic storage totes in the garage. 6y

Pickpick

This picture book shows a distracted young duck getting lost and distracted and losing her mother. The baby duck is sad , confused and worried about if she will ever get back to her mother, the whole book is that, until she finally finds her and she is so happy.

This book would be a good choice for children to read by themselves but I don‘t think I‘d choose to read it aloud to the class. I really do like the illustrations though, there are so many beautiful details.

Mehso-so

Published in 1997 by Orchard Books. This book has a very nice plot structure for young kids, in that it‘s easy to follow. It used many kinds of onomatopoeia that could be fun. The illustrations definitely give a nature, water color feel.
