Pickpick

This picture book shows a distracted young duck getting lost and distracted and losing her mother. The baby duck is sad , confused and worried about if she will ever get back to her mother, the whole book is that, until she finally finds her and she is so happy.

This book would be a good choice for children to read by themselves but I don‘t think I‘d choose to read it aloud to the class. I really do like the illustrations though, there are so many beautiful details.

Mehso-so

Published in 1997 by Orchard Books. This book has a very nice plot structure for young kids, in that it‘s easy to follow. It used many kinds of onomatopoeia that could be fun. The illustrations definitely give a nature, water color feel.

Pickpick

The theme of this book was exploration. The little duck daisy was to be following her mama through the pond, but Daisy was interested in everything around her. Dragonflies, frogs, lily pads, and more is what made Daisy lose site of her mama. Though Daisy was not following her mama it allows her to see many new and spectacular things!
