Kind of a hard book to read but somewhat interesting too. I have been much into the history of English for a while now and hope to read more. Skimmed some of the end part.

Boy, is this a good one to help with understanding a major logical fallacy. And why would we need that given today's political climate? 🧐

I‘ve been trying to make space for hanging with friends as we start heading into the months of sadness and darkness (yay seasonal affective disorder 🙃)

10/10 Highly recommend just sitting and chatting. 💕

Amiable I love this word —after we went to Sweden, I came back and encouraged my coworkers to adopt the practice of fika! We now have a “fika break” when we are all in the office at the same time. (edited) 2mo
Cuilin @Amiable I love that!! ☕️🍩 2mo

I came across this word in a beautiful descriptive phrase in my reading and promptly went down a rabbit hole of Renaissance art

@Amiable I‘ve been waiting for Wednesday! Thanks for putting this word in my atmosphere. Sadly, it‘s a frequent state of being for me these days. #weirdwords #weirdwordwednesday

julieclair Love this word! I use it all the time. Especially lately. (edited) 2mo
Amiable Feeling agita definitely causes heartburn! 😖It‘s a very descriptive word. Thank you, Italy! 😀 (edited) 2mo

CBee @Amiable which sucks if you already have heartburn, which I do 😂🤪 2mo
CBee @julieclair it‘s more appropriate lately, for sure 😬 2mo
Amiable @CBee It‘s like the chicken-or-egg. Which came first, the agita or the acid reflux? These days it‘s impossible to know for sure. 😖 2mo
CBee @Amiable ha! At this point I can‘t remember not having both 🤪🤦‍♀️ 2mo
dabbe @CBee @Amiable Boy, ain't that the truth? GERD, anyone? Ugh. Prilosec has been a best bud for years! This word sounds so pretty out loud, like it should be someone's name in a song! Its meaning, though ... 😱 2mo
CBee @dabbe hello, fellow GERD sufferer. I hate that you‘re in this club too 😬 2mo
dabbe @CBee Another thing we have in common! Though we wish we weren't alike on this one! 💛💜🧡 2mo

I adore mythological stories.

CBee ME TOO!!! I never tire of mythology. Edith Hamilton‘s book turned me into such a nerd for it 🤓🤓 5mo
lil1inblue I vividly remember my introduction to Greek mythology in the 4th grade. I was OBSESSED. I remember being so morose when the unit was over! Since then, I've been drawn to all sorts of mythological stories form all sorts of cultures! 😍 5mo

dabbe @lil1inblue Me, too! I loved that the stories were short, too! 😂 I adored teaching THE ILIAD and THE ODYSSEY to my honors freshmen. They didn't love it as much as I did, though! 😍 5mo
lil1inblue @dabbe I loved reading both in high school - my teacher adored them, as well, so it made it all the better! So many great discussions! 🤩 I should reread them one of these days.... 5mo
dabbe @lil1inblue So many books ... 😍 5mo
