⭐ ⭐ ⭐5 ⭐ ⭐ This was a great story. When I opened the pages, I was not expecting to hear a US indigenous story. This is about to cousins who live in the city, and one moves back to the “rez”. Will they still be friends? will they still like each other? The story is approachable to all with feelings of being “away” from family. What is interesting is the information in the back where the author talks about the Indian Relocation Act of 1956 ⬇
“Your moon is my moon too.”
I think a lot of children would be able to relate to this story. Living or being far away from a loved one may be hard for a child to comprehend fully. However, this story gives a great outlook on how to handle those types of situations, especially at that age.
Genre: Poetry
This was an extremely thoughtful and sentimental book that has a lot of great meaning to it. I can definitely relate to this story; it reminds you that no matter how far a loved one may be away from you, it is always important to keep in touch with them and to know that they are always “there”.
