My current view in Bergen Norway. So beautiful here but we head out tomorrow. Reading this book that takes place in Copenhagen which was our first stop on our trip…. Love reading about place I know or have been to… anyone else?

Despite the grumpy, rude, bitter protagonist, this is a suspenseful and interesting crime thriller. I plan to read more of this series.
@Cinfhen @alisiakae @Barbara #booked2023 A 1st fail in winter when I missed ya bk, so here goes for spring with #setintwotimeperiods.
Another great Carl Morck story, in which Carl + his 2 colleagues Assad + Rose investigate several disappearances in 1987 , while in present day the search focuses on a far right party moving into power. Thus is a very enjoyable series set in Denmark which combines great plotting with a brilliant sense of humour.
I really like the characters in this series but I found this installment a little too disturbing and gory for my tastes.

It's been a while since I read bk2 in this series, so was really pleased to pick this one up and enjoy this Danish thriller with the grumpy but very funny detective morck. Here, a message in a bottle is washed up on a Scottish beach + eventually lands on department q's desk. With his two odd assistants, the investigation becomes a hunt for missing children and a particularly clever villain
Jussi Adler-Olsen says he wrote Carl the way he is because he himself is like Carl 😃 Actually, his name is Carl. Morck comes from a man he befriended when he was a boy. This man had murdered his wife. Apparently the policemen in Denmark are crazy about his books.
I really like the Department Q team, and I enjoy the banter that they have going on. They are digging into a series of super weird deaths that they deem to be murders. Carl is also in trouble. I liked the mystery, but the book could have been shortened to half the length.
I really like this series. This is the third installment. The core characters are lovely and quite amusing. I look forward to finding out what the deal is with Assad. This one starts with a pair of boys being held captive. There's a lot going on, actually. It kept me engaged.

I swear that I had a photo. I must have gotten carried away with my google purge.
I love the Department Q series from this Danish author. More Scandinavian crime! Each book is always better than the last. Anyway, this first in the series ebook is on sale for $1.99!
