I am a member of my local Libray‘s Friends Group. Each week, I work organizing books for our book sales. So sometimes, something comes in that I cannot resist purchasing before the sale. This was one of those books. Pristine condition. Beautiful color photographs. A treasure. #fashion
I read this book because one of the hosts of “Dressed: The History of Fashion” podcast said it was one of her favorites. I can definitely see why. The scope is 18th to 20th centuries with mostly French fashion, then a bit of British, American, and Japanese. I learned a lot about the development of women‘s garments and undergarments in shape, fabric, and aesthetic, tied in with the politics, economics, and culture of the time. My favorites above!
#Haunted Day 21: So we are easing into in-person on-campus work (all my classes are still virtual tho), but there is flexibility as I only come to the office around 2 or 3 times a week - as such, I was #InCostume - wearing a blazer with mah husband‘s Lakers cap because hiphop hooray.
OMG y‘all! Preorder copies are arriving early! Triffin and I signed this copy for a co-.worker right after this pho was taken!
