A heartbreaking loss that resulted in a rebirth of sorts. She eventually finds herself, learns to listen to her own voice and stops bowing to others. Definitely recommend listening to Gone: The Album while reading.

so-soDecent read. Received this for Christmas as a gift, not necessarily something I'd choose on my own. Writing could have been better, the story & timelines were a little disjointed & all over the place. I don't know much about music so a lot of stuff went over my head. A short book at 200 or so pages, but took 3 days to read, maybe because I wasn't that into it.
pickThis book was lovely. The musical descriptions mixed with the seriousness of the trial was beautifully written.
I'm really looking forward to reading this one. It isn't one that I would typically pick up. I enjoyed the movie but I just assumed that this would be a really dry read. I'm only a few chapters in, however and I am really enjoying it. I'm also reading The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas for class so it's been slow going but, I'm looking forward to being able to dedicate more time to this one.
