Bought this one as a gift for the hubby, but I'll be reading it, too. Pretty clever way to get myself a new book, right? #riotgrams #celestial #celestialsolstice One of my small people wants to be an astronaut...she's four. #WomenCanDoAnything
For today's #CelestialSolstice #RIOTGRAMS Challenge I thought I would go a couple different ways. I pulled out some of my Angel books, some celestial tea, and my star mug. 😇 ☕️ ✨ #BookNerd 📚❤️
Day 20 of #riotgram is #CelestialSolstice Here is a very good SF anthology by POC authors, about POC characters. Lovely all around. This one is not in the database, but the one tagged is just as good (but not in space, so...) On Amazon here Dark Universe https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B019RGDX2O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1JtszbBN70F5G
This collection of short stories all deal with characters that are transformed over time, coming to view their past selves with anger, regret, & compassion. In the final story, which is also the title of the book,is about how family relationships are magnified in times of crisis. In the story, the main character's family is mostly grouped around the ailing father, much like moons around Jupiter.

#Riotgrams #day20 #CelestialSolstice This is a beautiful little book about three hardly known female scientists who made discoveries that furthered their fields without any acknowledgement. Maria Merian studied insects & made gorgeous detailed paintings, Mary Anning found fossils amongst the stones near her coastal home which furthered scientific study & Maria Mitchell helped her father make celestial maps in Nantucket, and discovered a new comet.
