Paris: The Memoir | Paris Hilton

A compelling read and although the chapters seemed a bit choppy and disorganised once Paris explains her journey with her ADHD mind, it became clear that she was writing this book as the thoughts/memories were coming to her and this seemed to be the most organic and rawest way for her to tell her truth. After reading this excellent memoir, I now feel like I know that there is so much more to Paris than anyone ever gave her credit for.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Characters' backgrounds were slowly revealed and that was intriguing. This was slow paced, I think I ended up liking that. Characters weren't alike to each other, some weren't likable and some were.

This was intriguing to read after the very beginning. The beginning wasn't super captivating but I was soon invested in the story. This was like a soap opera that tells about awful things but at the same time you want to know more.

Loved how candid Paris was in this. A reminder that being born into privilege does not automatically mean that you will always have the best life.

kelli7990 I used to think when I saw the popular, rich kids at my high school that they all had perfect lives but I never hung out with them so I don‘t know their lives or what they were dealing with at home. Rich people can have problems just like the rest of us. 3mo

Was browsing for an audiobook to listen to and stumbled upon this one.

I‘ve only listened about 20% so far and I must say she‘s the perfect example of why we shouldn‘t judge a book based by its cover…

5feet.of.fury It‘s so good! I have been a fan of hers since the Simple Life, but she‘s much deeper than she gets credit for. 3mo
Amor4Libros @5feet.of.fury This has been really eye-opening! You see this people in the media “living their best life” and you just have no idea what they‘ve been through. I‘ve always been indifferent towards her, but I have some newfound respect for her now. 3mo

This was a tough read, but also an inspiring one. Pamela put up with a lot…abuse, media slurs, unscrupulous people & some very outrageous men. Still, she persevered. She found much solace & courage in a variety of spiritual books. I had no idea she was such an avid reader or that she appeared on stage as Roxy in Chicago. Loved the stories about her sons & her empowering posse of friends.
Thanks @catiewithac for the gift of this moving memoir.🤗❤️

PurpleyPumpkin I heard this was quite good. Glad you enjoyed it!👍🏽 5mo

I was one of those people who spent the early 2000s rolling my eyes at Paris Hilton. I avoided all things Paris, as a matter of principle; though I did, in fact, watch House of Wax to "see Paris die", as the movie marketed it, (and then immediately stopped watching, because, what a terrible movie!) *More in comments*

Kris10H When I watched the documentary, "This is Paris", a couple of years ago, I started to see her from a very different perspective; not just spoiled little rich girl princess, but an actual human being. Paris, The Memoir, continues in that vein. In many ways, she does have a very blessed, privileged existence, but that hasn't made her exempt from hardship, and I definitely respect her for what she has made for and of herself. 6mo
Kris10H "I know we're supposed to spin terrible things to make it sound like they were actually good, but that's bullshit. That heart attack did not save your life. Cancer is not a gift. Your abuser did not give you strength. Terrible things are terrible. Let's just acknowledge it. If you found strength, wisdom, or a new way of thinking, that's awesome, but notice that the strength, wisdom, and new world view came out of you". 6mo
