Can you believe this? There's is an outcry going on because some slimy romance author decided to trademark the word cocky. One word, trademarked, as in you cannot use it in your title or you could face legal charges. Preposterous 😡

CoffeeK8 Ugh, I was just reading about this, it‘s terrible 7y
JoRead @CoffeeK8 Makes you wonder what kind of person she really is 😔 7y
CoffeeK8 @JoRead seriously, I read a lot of romance, but I‘m certainly keeping clear of her books from now on 7y

tpixie Wow 😮 7y
Bookzombie This is so strange. I have never heard of this author, but I think if people are purchasing the wrong books that‘s on them. They should be looking for her name on the book. What if another romance author trademarks “rake” or “duke”? Nuts! 7y
JoRead @Bookzombie Exactly! Some poor author gave in and changed the cover of her boom because of this. I'm glad others are standing their ground and are actually thinking of taking legal action. 7y
JoRead @CoverToCoverGirl @Bianca @tpixie it is a hot mess. 7y
tpixie I can‘t believe the trademark was accepted 7y
Beata @tpixie Same! WTH trademark office?!? 7y
tpixie @Beata 🎉🎉 7y
readinginthedark 🙄Ridiculous! 6y
JoRead @readinginthedark And what's been happening since then it's even more ridiculous! Another author tried to trademark another word. It's amazing the things people think they can get away with 6y
readinginthedark I mean...if it‘s in the dictionary as a commonly used word, I don‘t know that trademarks should be allowed. It‘s stupid. Like if Apple decided to trademark the word apple or I. 6y
