TobeyTheScavengerMonk Burden of Dreams, a documentary about the making of Fitzcarraldo in which you pretty much get to watch Werner lose his mind in the jungle, might just be a better movie than Fitzcarraldo. 8y

vivastory I love Werner Herzog. Didn't he literally eat his shoe due to losing a bet with Erol Morris when his first documentary premiered? 8y

TobeyTheScavengerMonk @vivastory Yep, the short film "Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe" is a special feature on Burden of Dreams. He didn't eat the soles though, saying they were the equivalent of chicken bones. 8y

vivastory @TobeyTheScavengerMonk Haha, I've seen Fitzcarraldo but it's been probably 10 years. I think a re-watch is in order with "Burden of Dreams." 8y

So this was not the #audiobook to start when I dropped my son off at the train station to send him back to school after spring break. The tears were pouring as I drove home between saying goodbye and the start of this book.

so-so

I finished this audiobook today, I liked it but I didn't love it. I know that is an uncommon opinion, but I think it may have suffered from too high of expectations. My favorite parts were the discussions/facts about plants! This also fits perfectly for #bookthatfocusesonnature! #marchmadness
