The House in the Cerulean Sea | Tj Klune

We‘re all just hanging out. This book has been fun, only in the first few chapters, but it‘s giving me HP/Hitchhikers vibes and I‘m really enjoying it. I don‘t know if it gets heavier later on, but the beginning has been nice and light and just what I need right now. #bookswithmycalico

ImperfectCJ I've been eyeing this one as a possible family read-aloud. You might not have read far enough to answer this, but do you think it could work for a 10.5-year-old and an almost-15? 5y

Skyrimir @ImperfectCJ I‘m only about a hundred pages in, and even though I don‘t have kids I keep thinking it would be a fun one to read with them if I ever do. It‘s lighthearted, LGBT friendly. I don‘t know if you‘d care, but one of the kids at the orphanage is the antichrist, but everyone just kind of rolls their eyes at him when he tries to act that way. I don‘t want to completely say yes though, because I recommended a book before I finished once and 5y

Skyrimir A couple chapters later some REALLY crazy stuff happened. 😱 I was like, maybe should have waited to recommend that one for sure...lol 5y

Tinfoil Butterfly: A Novel | Rachel Eve Moulton

Not sure how I feel about this one yet! I can‘t connect with the main character and am a little creeped out by her relationship with her stepbrother. Shiner of course thinks it would be a cozy spot for a nap no matter what book I‘m reading. #bookswithmycalico
