Taayasbooks @Sarah83 You should really give Star Trek a try. It's great. The old stuff at least, when it was all about peace, friendship, tolerance and exploring. Anyway, I finished Trek first - quite quickly, good read - and now I'll read the last 200 bookstore pages 8y

Taayasbooks @Sarah83 nope. I started Bookstore days ago. It's too heavy to read it most of the day, but I hope to be able to finish it soon. And Überleben only has 120 pages ?. As for first Trek book I'd suggest starting with the Original TV show as you might need to know the character dynamics to really enjoy the books. And then I'd say 'Devil's Bargain'. But there are only few consecutive stories, so you can start everywhere. 8y

Taayasbooks I only own about 60 and I have too many other book interests and not enough money to only buy Star Trek. Especially since many are unavailable in Germany and I'd have to have them shipped from the US. And that costs taxes as well... Reading is a complicated hobby. (edited) 8y

TheBookDream I don't know if this will help, but there are a LOT of Star Trek novels in German on Barnes and Noble's Nook. 8y

Taayasbooks Oh, I don't necessarily read in German. My problem is really more the shipping. Especially stuff from the US costs a lot - I bought some merch there some time ago and shipping plus taxes were 40 euros, while the stuff itself only costed 35 euros. And right now, having no job and no income, I just can't afford buying international. (I can't afford buying books at all, but ... well, that doesn't stop a reader, does it? 😅) 8y

Current status & mood the past 3 days. I hear it's not worth going outside anyway, (37°) so I'll just stay in my blanketfort with my sniffles. Haven't had the energy to read much but going to see if I can finish up my current read so I can start something new. Starting a new book is always exciting don't you agree? Surely the fun in deciding & picking out what to read next will perk me up a bit.
