Oh George, you can read to me anytime with that deeply mesmerizing voice of yours! This amazing Star Trek actor/activist shares such moving stories: spending his childhood imprisoned in American “relocation” camps during WWII(as depicted in his stirring graphic novel), meeting Gene Roddenberry, landing his most iconic role aboard the Enterprise & remaining longtime friends with the cast. Even tho Shatner tried to steal all the best lines!😁🖖🏻

April 3rd #DynamicDs Doorway. As a Star Trek fan who can forget the famous doorway, I only like the first Star Trek as 10 year old me had a crush on William Shatner. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

This was utter perfection. I absolutely adored the conversations between Nimoy and Spock. I love that Spock was almost this alter ego he could talk to in his head about all sorts of things. I don‘t know about everyone else, but as far as I‘m concerned, it‘s not possible to think of Spock without thinking of Nimoy. Through Spock, Nimoy will live forever. What a beautiful human being. What a beautiful book.

I don‘t know about anyone else, but the first thing I think of when I hear Spock, is Nimoy as Spock. All other actors who play Spock are held up against Nimoy as the ideal. Nimoy will live forever through Spock, and that‘s pretty awesome.

AnnCrystal Absolutely fact... truthfully, I never watched Star Track, my older brother was the fan. Yet I know Leonard Nimoy because of Spock 🖖✨🛸✨💝. 1w
GingerAntics @AnnCrystal I think in the 50s and 60s, people knew him for all sorts of things (he did westerns and tons of things), he even did other things in the 70s, but kids in the 80s, 90s, and beyond, he IS Spock. He‘s not separable from Spock, no matter who plays him now. I love that for him. It‘s just so beautiful. I guess I get where in the early 2000s he wasn‘t so sure. 1w

I‘m feeling very much led in this direction this afternoon. I got quite a laugh out of the mental image of Spock as midwife by @Bookwomble . I don‘t think I‘ll be getting that out of my head anytime soon. Also, I have never been more excited for a book read by the author… sorry Wil.

The_Book_Ninja Of the two Spocks, Mister, was my fave.🖖🏼 1mo
Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja Imagine having Mister as your midwife! "It is illogical to scream as that will not entice your baby to be delivered any more quickly. Pain is in the mind, and the mind can be controlled. Why are you throwing a bedpan at me?" 1mo

The Covenant of the Crown | Howard Weinstein
post image
Mehso-so

(1981) The Enterprise crew is charged with transporting the king and princess of a planet with rare mineral reserves. The king dies, Kirk goes spy-hunting, and Spock and McCoy take the princess to retrieve a crown that will prove her legitimacy as the king's successor. Mixed feelings: there's a lot going on here, too much for its length really. But McCoy gets a spotlight that is not wasted, and the Spock/Bones dynamic feels about right.

Lots of fun for Trekkies/Trekkers - fun twist to the phenomenon of a "red shirt". Wil Wheaton is always a wonderful narrator. But this author MUST find synonyms to "s/he said". Every line of dialogue was followed by "s/he said". Good grief, that was annoying.
