Little Oliver learns that he can't lose himself just to fit in.
Little Oliver learns that he can't lose himself just to fit in.
Fern and her mom live at a sustainable farm in upstate NY, with a leader named “Dr Ben”, a stern ruler. It‘s the only home she can remember bc she was little when they moved there. When Mom absconds with her and drives to a California beach town saying that Ben is dangerous, Fern is furious and makes it her mission to get back “home”…
So heartful and well written🩵🩵

@WildAlaskaBibliophile and I celebrated one year in Alaska this week! Wild flowers are in bloom (I don't think I've ever seen a rose in the wild before), and Black Jack is still Black Jack.
The pace was slow but the characters and atmosphere were fantastic. The plot was unique with the cult and underlying feelings of danger.
#AutumnPlease! Day 21: It is east to get #Lost if you are the new girl. Recent book haul. Review is forthcoming.
I know some people are super fans of Brene Brown…. And I don‘t count myself in those numbers, I have enjoyed her books. They make me pause and think about my actions, my intentions, and my introspective thoughts. I may not be drinking her kool aid, but I‘m receiving what she has to say, and I think it will help me be better as a person, and as a manager/colleague at work .
Beautifully illustrated story of Allison, who discovers that she and her doll Mei-Mei resemble each other, but she doesn‘t resemble her adoptive parents at all…

#TemptingTitles Day 24: #WithLost - I was awed by the story‘s futuristic vibe and its strangely-sad tone despite its being matter-of-fact and straightforward. Shaun Tan manages to poke and prod the reader‘s sensibility with only a few carefully-selected words and a masterful stroke of his artist‘s pen that gives birth to quirky and deliciously-surreal creatures.
