I loved the illustrations in this one, just like I‘ve done in the other books I‘ve read by him.
pickBeautiful simply beautiful. A man who loves to collect bottle tops notices a big red teapot shaped thing at the beach and befriends it. It then tries to figure out what to do with it since it's lost. Wonderful story and stunning graphics.
'If you really care about that thing, you shouldn't leave it here, ' said a tiny voice. 'This is a place for forgetting, leaving behind, smoothing over. Here, take this.'

I know there is a lot of love towards Shaun Tan‘s books, and wanted to let everyone know that the tagged book has been made into an animated short film. Shaun Tan won an Oscar for it. It‘s available on YouTube, if you like me didn‘t know about but want to check it out.
@mreads thank you for making me aware of this film. I‘ve now seen it, and I love it just as much as his other works.
Now I‘ll need to check out the book too.

I am focused on Australian illustrator extraordinaire - Shaun Tan at the moment. I am slowly working my way through his back catalog.
This one, though not my favourite is still outstanding. It has been adapted into an Academy Award winning animated short, which is really good if you can find it. It's worth taking the time to look at all the details, including the bottle cap inside cover !
