Zorrie is a beautiful example of quiet kindness and continuing to move forward, despite tragedy, sadness, loneliness and disappointment. Written in lovely prose, this novel is reflective and thought-provoking. Meant to be savored - a quick read would not do it justice. A wonderful selection for #SundayBuddyRead, @TheBookHippie . Refreshing, original, uplifting, charming. A testament to the magic of confidence! Written in 2012, but takes place in the 1980‘s, and the references to the trends and technology was a fun throwback. This was my #ReadOrDonate selection for April. Usually I donate them once I‘ve read them, but I‘m keeping this one. 🇫🇷

All Sakamoto wanted was a nice family day at the amusement park but with a bounty on his head and him trying to hide it from the family, well it's easier said than done.
Another action packed volume that also had me laughing. How could I not, when after a heated match, he loses like more than half of his body weight and somehow manages to gain it back the next day 😂

This is Konosuke's story as he's the down and out samurai that is at his wits end before the mysterious Tsuki finds him and makes an interesting proposition but nothing is really given about her. She is a mystery and the author chooses to shape the story in such a way that by as these two are finding themselves in a comfortable union and are getting to know each other, all hell breaks loose and I'm left with a cliffhanger!!!!

Bk3 of April is done! 2 books in 3 days, getting better fingers crossed.🤞The 3rd DS Kate Miles book, a series set in the Northern Rivers of NSW, was another great read. Kates brother Luke is in town for the funeral of a childhood friend when the 2nd of their teenage trio is shot & killed. Bk2 of April is done! I absolutely loved this. From the author of Rizzoli & Isles series, it‘s the 1st in a new series called The Martini Club. A group of retired CIA agents living in a small seaside town in Maine are dragged back into action after a dead body is left in Maggie Birds driveway. I saw this title in a pic someone posted about manga recommendations and it was everything they listed!!!
Absolutely loved the quick pace, the art style, the action filled scenes and that love has the power to change people because Sakamoto is proof that love is powerful enough to turn him away from his previous hitman lifestyle.

I love a slow-burn romance but it's been a while since I've read one that I enjoyed from opening line to the last one.
Her Emmy and Brooks had me hooked. Sage has a great way of writing that really showed through the more I read, even as I tried hard to pace myself, but this one was too good and it gave me what I needed.

I can't believe it's over...
it took me a while to getting around to this trilogy after Fangirl mainly because I wasn't sure what to expect but I don't know why I doubt. Rowell gave me a fantastic set of characters that outgrew what I knew from their first iteration and she added depth, layers, and growth all throughout. So freaking well done!!
