The 2nd Raiders of Arcana book is just as fun a historical treasure hunting romp as the 1st!

Have I already read this book? Yes. Did I request this arc entirely for Picard‘s narration? Also yes. She does a fantastic job giving each character such a strong individual voice that I know whose POV we‘re in w/out any other clues. & the emotion she conveys throughout is amazing. I‘m ready to seek out books she‘s narrated w/out any more info.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Book 3 of 2025. Four stars for the story, which follows two boys growing up in an isolated tribe in the Amazon. The only thing I didn‘t like, explained in the author‘s note, is that almost everything in the story is made up - the tribe isn‘t real, some of the plants and animals named aren‘t real, and most of the language the “Takunami” tribe uses is made up. The story is based on an idea about unknown tribes in the jungle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I forgot to post yesterday!

Think The Mummy and Road to El Dorado had a baby! This was a fun treasure hunt novel with a plucky female protagonist, the ruggedly handsome mapmaker who helps her, and a hidden city with untold treasures.

The sequel to Cascade Failure was my favorite book of July. The crew of the Ambit is forced to work with their worst enemy to save the life of one of their family members.

Hey #BobWhiteBuddies !!! Quick question - do we want to skip December and pick up in January with The Happy Valley Mystery, or are we good to read Happy Valley in December? I'm fine either way, but I know this time of year can get overwhelming, so just let me know what you think!!

⬇ ⬇

TheAromaofBooks Also, I have a tiny (like envelope-sized) present I would love to send to each of you because it's PERFECT 😂 I have everyone's addresses except Beth, Chelle, and Lora. If you could please email me your addresses at itsthegoodlife15 at gmail OR just let me know that you don't care to share your address which is 100% fine 😁

I'll be back next week to chat about The Black Jacket Mystery!!

lauraisntwilder Skipping sounds good to me, but I'll fit it in, if the rest of the group wants to keep going. 2mo

BookmarkTavern I‘m good either way! It would be a nice short read for #WinterGames , but I‘m happy to do either. 2mo
DebinHawaii I‘m fine either way—whatever the group wants to do. 2mo
Read4life I don‘t know if I‘ll be home from caring for my father in law in time to read it (my copy is at home) so I‘d prefer to skip December but completely understand if the group wants to continue. 2mo
curiouserandcurioser @TheAromaofBooks im good with what everyone decides:) 2mo
BethM Skipping seems good to me! 2mo
DebinHawaii @TheAromaofBooks So did we decide to skip? Just putting together my December TBR. 2mo
TheAromaofBooks @DebinHawaii - I think the consensus seems to be skip. I've been planning to post the Black Jacket discussion post all day and also update the December reading schedule, but it's suppertime and hasn't happened yet 😂 But I think skip December and we'll be back in January!! 2mo
DebinHawaii @TheAromaofBooks Sounds good! Thanks. (And my days are usually like that too!) 😂 2mo

3✨ As the last book in the series I don‘t want to say much about what is happening in this book. As a series it was funny, each book featured one of the agents and it all wrapped up nicely by the end of this book. #SeriesLove #TeamFlurken #HauntedShelves

In this second in series, we have a change of scenery as Ellie and Adam have traveled to Egypt in an effort to find a holy relic before a ruthless gang of antiquity art thieves, the same nefarious group from their prior adventure. We are introduced to Ellie's archaeologist brother Neil (Adam's best friend) on the fateful dig, and Constance (Ellie's best friend) who's along for the ride and trying to avoid her matchmaking mother.

robinb I really enjoyed this one! Lots of action, lots of historical detail, and lots of romance. However, I was a bit confused/surprised by the intensity of the romance from the very beginning of the story. I was not expecting that judging from the ending of the previous adventure. I'm not complaining (I love Adam and Ellie's chemistry/banter, and it was definitely on showcase here), it just took a little change of mindset on my part for them to ⬇️ 4mo
robinb be that far along in that department already. My only other call out was Neil's character. I felt he was a bit overdone in his "bumbling" academic role, and he actually tended to get on my nerves with his nonsensical portrayal. However, Constance more than saved the day with her spunky, all-in, brave and hilarious self...she needs her own series. Looking forward to more! 4.5/5⭐️ 4mo
BookmarkTavern I felt the same way about this new romance! It felt unexpected and very rushed. Hopefully book three will take more time with it. And Connie was an absolute star of this book. 4mo

robinb @BookmarkTavern I‘m glad to hear it wasn‘t just me! 🤣 I honestly felt like I had missed a previous book from where this one picked up. And yes, I‘m definitely Team Constance all the way! (edited) 4mo
BookmarkTavern And the fact that we get to go to India with Connie in book three? I am so excited to see where that goes! 4mo
robinb @BookmarkTavern Yes! At the rate Ellie and Adam are going they will probably be married with 3 kids by then. LOL 4mo
BookmarkTavern Can you imagine the absolute chaos of children of Ellie and Adam?!? Just imagining it makes me want to watch The Mummy Returns again. At least I can dive into more of Benson‘s backlog while I wait for three. 😁 4mo
bookandbedandtea This series sounds great! (And I love the covers 🤩) I just got book 1. 4mo
robinb @bookandbedandtea I‘m so glad you‘re going to try it! Let us know what you think. 😊 4mo
robinb @BookmarkTavern I‘m planning to check out her backlist as well. Happy I discovered her. 😊 4mo
