Wilder Boys | Brandon Wallace

Pickpick

I haven‘t been doing many individual book reviews lately but it always comes as a surprise to me when I‘m the first to post about a book so I couldn‘t let the opportunity pass me by. All middle graders will enjoy this adventurous series, particularly reluctant male readers who prefer the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, dogs etc. (Of note: abusive stepdad). Adults who enjoy a good road trip or nature read will also enjoy this series.

Nonfiction about an expedition to kayak the Tsangpo Gorge in Tibet. It‘s a wild story and about more than just the river.

My husband, youngest son and I traveled to DC this weekend to participate in the Hands Off protest there. Current estimates at the moment are that 5 million people attended more than 1,400 protests around the world today. Keep the momentum going! We are the people—and we have the power! #resist

“We have to boil that first! she said. “What do you mean? Why do you have to boil it?“ he asked. “Because,“ Buzz told him. “You just drank water off the bottom of a giant bat toilet. That's why!”

Book 3 of 2025. Four stars for the story, which follows two boys growing up in an isolated tribe in the Amazon. The only thing I didn‘t like, explained in the author‘s note, is that almost everything in the story is made up - the tribe isn‘t real, some of the plants and animals named aren‘t real, and most of the language the “Takunami” tribe uses is made up. The story is based on an idea about unknown tribes in the jungle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hey #BobWhiteBuddies !!! Quick question - do we want to skip December and pick up in January with The Happy Valley Mystery, or are we good to read Happy Valley in December? I'm fine either way, but I know this time of year can get overwhelming, so just let me know what you think!!

⬇ ⬇

TheAromaofBooks Also, I have a tiny (like envelope-sized) present I would love to send to each of you because it's PERFECT 😂 I have everyone's addresses except Beth, Chelle, and Lora. If you could please email me your addresses at itsthegoodlife15 at gmail OR just let me know that you don't care to share your address which is 100% fine 😁

I'll be back next week to chat about The Black Jacket Mystery!!

lauraisntwilder Skipping sounds good to me, but I'll fit it in, if the rest of the group wants to keep going. 7mo

BookmarkTavern I‘m good either way! It would be a nice short read for #WinterGames , but I‘m happy to do either. 7mo
DebinHawaii I‘m fine either way—whatever the group wants to do. 7mo
Read4life I don‘t know if I‘ll be home from caring for my father in law in time to read it (my copy is at home) so I‘d prefer to skip December but completely understand if the group wants to continue. 7mo
curiouserandcurioser @TheAromaofBooks im good with what everyone decides:) 7mo
BethM Skipping seems good to me! 7mo
DebinHawaii @TheAromaofBooks So did we decide to skip? Just putting together my December TBR. 7mo
TheAromaofBooks @DebinHawaii - I think the consensus seems to be skip. I've been planning to post the Black Jacket discussion post all day and also update the December reading schedule, but it's suppertime and hasn't happened yet 😂 But I think skip December and we'll be back in January!! 7mo
DebinHawaii @TheAromaofBooks Sounds good! Thanks. (And my days are usually like that too!) 😂 7mo
