Started this book today for a buddy read with @Tove_Reads - it has 1176 pages. If we read 44 pages a day then we can finish it by June 30th. Now it doesn‘t seem so daunting.
You are welcome to join us, if you have a copy of the book. It‘s about women in Ohio in 1868 that formed a Women‘s Club in order to promote literacy among women. There are still functioning Women‘s Clubs in the US today.

Pamwurtzler Wow I read that book years ago and loved it. I‘m not sure I‘d want to dust it (seriously) and reread it, but I hope you guys love it too! 7y
EadieB @Pamwurtzler It seems to get good reviews. I actually was president of the Woman‘s Club in my home town in 1997 when it was their 100th Anniversary. We had a Victorian dinner/dance at the country club. It was a lot of fun! 7y
Pamwurtzler @EadieB that sounds fun! 7y

thea-block Have you finished your buddy read? I just picked this one up last week and I‘m enjoying it so far! I‘d love you hear if you finished it and what you thought! 6y
EadieB @thea-block Not yet! Got to about 150 pages in and got sidetracked. I was enjoying it but it took me hours to get to 150 because of the small print and I had to put it aside. Hope to get back to it though! 6y
thea-block @EadieB I totally understand - I got stuck at that point too! Let me know when you pick it back up - I‘d love to chat about it! 6y
EadieB @thea-block I just checked - I am on page 187 in the book that has 1433 pages. I have the larger paperback too that has 1174 pages. In that one, I am on page 157. The years are 1873-1874. At the moment I am also reading The Dark Tower series and a few other books. I have signed up for the August make me read it where people vote on what you should read first. So I could probably continue a bit here and there with full focus to finish in September. 6y
