If you enjoyed the chill, playful vibe of Zombieland, this is probably your kind of zombie book. But if you want something serious and graphically intense, this might not be for you. For me, this zombie apocalypse style was perfect, and the dynamic between the MCs was entertaining. I will be continuing the series. The narration was performed perfectly by Cassandra Campbell.

I'm having fun visiting spooky books/movies. Every year we have to watch three movies: THE OTHERS, THE HAUNTING (1962), and this one. I think this one is the most horrifying. 🧟🧟♀️🧟♂️

bailedA book from the point of view of a zombie after the apocalypse seems like a good idea. And I found the first few pages pretty funny. Unfortunately not long after that I got really bored with it. It felt very stream-of-conscious, with not much plot. I made it to about 40%.
Currently reading: American Rapture by CJ Leede.
Really enjoyed her first book, Maeve Fly, so I‘ve been looking forward to this one.

It was only recently while browsing a library list online that I discovered that Tobe Hooper-director of Texas Chainsaw Massacre AND Poltergeist among others-wrote a book. MM is about his first effort Destiny Express which premieres during SXSW (in an interview in the afterword Hooper notes that an early film Eggshells had premiered at SXSW). Following the screening there is an outbreak featuring zombies & a lot of uh...strange spicy (CONT)
pickI liked how much this one added to the first series. It addressed a few questions I had and felt a bit more cohesive compared to the first Marvel Zombies. Still absolutely chaotic 😂
In these stories of the apocalypse, happy endings are possible. That doesn‘t mean that people haven‘t died, or that horrible things haven‘t been done. But what it does mean is that those humans who populate the world and maybe the world itself are different, better, even, because of what has been endured. It means that in the great battle between life and death, the only war that matters, we continue to choose life, life in all its ⬇️

so-so(1989) After the rapture, the dead rise from their graves. Left-behind sinners ponder the state of their souls while battling a zombie horde. I love the idea of mining Christian mythology for horror material -- especially as here when the author has no evangelistic agenda -- but like many another zombie novel this gets bogged down in a repetitive series of violent gross-out set pieces. Still it's fun enough to finish, and just right for the season
so-soThere's only one word that comes to mind about how I can best describe this comic series (the first Marvel Zombies): CHAOS. It's pure chaos. It's not great, it's not amazing....it's just....chaos lol
