Amazing, quick read. Just like with her previous essay. Adichie is one of the best role models out there and I could not agree more on her opinions 💪🏻

If you want a story without the despair and agony of loss, do not read this book. If you want to read a story with mothers/fathers/daughters/strangers' struggle towards hope while dealing with past and present prejudices, read this amazing book. #lrc3 #WrittenByAWomanOfColor
Ohhh, just discovered #litsyreadingchallenge2017!! I need to catch up as I've read a few things that fit already. So cool! This one can be #writtenbyawomanofcolour or #writtenbyawomanofcolor
Loved this debut novel written about small town secrets and "what ifs" that play out in lives everywhere. Strong female voices including "The Mothers" who are the matriarch recorders of history in this small town where the lives of many characters revolve around a close knit church. Love her writing style, "B" for #litsyAtoZ as well as #writtenbyawomanofcolor for the #Litsyreadingchallenge @BookishMarginalia @jessica
I may have shouted "hell yeah" out loud more than once (or like 50 times) while listening to this book. Such a good perspective on women, race and gender - it's scary though - while this book is a few years old some of her complaints about how society looks at and perceives women have only gotten worse. Read it! #litsyreadingchallenge #writtenbyawomanofcolor
