Wayward, volume 4

This was a pretty good volume! I enjoyed learning more about Rori‘s Irish heritage (her dad) and especially about the Celtic folklore and supernatural creatures - a nice separation from the Japanese folklore and creatures from the first three volumes. I‘m curious if the series will include other cultural folklores later on. I‘m excited for the next volume now 😉

Just when things may be looking better (Rori freed from the control of the spiders), things get worse (Nura‘s influence over the government), and even more curious (appearance of Rori‘s dad...with powers!). Can‘t wait for volume 4!

Wayward vol 2

So glad I was able to meet the translator for this series at the comic-con this past weekend - Zachary Davisson, really nice and informative guy 👍

Anyways, I enjoyed this volume even though I was confused as to where the protagonist was throughout this installment 😅 Good stuff.

Wayward volume 1

I was immediately interested when I read the description of this series - it reminded me very much of the supernatural/folklore genre of manga. And I loved it 👍

Half-Irish, half-Japanese teen goes to live with her mum in Tokyo and discovers that she has the ability to see supernatural creatures & events occurring around her. And now she‘s caught up in something much bioger 😆

Need vol 2 now!!

🕷The second volume takes the foundation from volume one and builds upon it with new characters.
🕷Plot is intricate & has much more depth & dimension with its progression.
🕷The world & special characters are very much reminiscent to Mutants from X-Men.
🕷The overarching premise is still slightly vague.
🕷Worried the story is slightly ambitious for what's been exhibited this far.
🕷Still very story driven.
