#uprootedbuddyread Chapters1-8 .. 1st #buddyread so I‘m not sure how this works ... OVERALL: I am enjoying this book; it isn‘t sucking me in like I expected it to, and I have to remind myself to pick it up, but I enjoy it while I am reading it. I feel like Nieshka changed from whiny, brat with no belief in herself to confident magician in training way to quickly and painlessy; and sometimes I feel like I have started a series in the middle —>

callunakeep ...because there are holes that feel like implied knowledge from a source I don‘t have. It is also a bit 2 dimensional: I feel like I am reading a book, I do not feel like I am a part of the world or that I know the characters. But it is an enjoyable book and I AM enjoying the read! callunakeep @BookishTrish ... just touching base on our #buddyread ... i have not read any of this since last Saturday ...while i am reading it i enjoy it okay, but i don‘t seem to be interested enough to put down my other books and pick it back up ... checking goodreads i found that i had previously started and bailed on this book once before ... I saw in one of your posts that you aren‘t enjoying it all...shall we bail? 6y

BookishTrish TBH I got to chapter 8 and put it aside for the week. Chapter 9 has piqued my curiosity so I‘m going to poke around a bit more. I‘m happy to bail on the #buddyread and meander through (or not) as the mood takes me. 6y

callunakeep @BookishTrish Nope, I am good to keep on reading; like I said, I enjoy it while I am reading it, it just doesn‘t call to me from the side table like some books do!😝. I only offered to bail because I thought you were not enjoying it. The fact that it interested me enough to pick it up again after bailing previously has me determined to finish the book!🤣😂 6y

callunakeep @BookishTrish Yes!!🤓. Let‘s do it!! I have never done a buddy read so I don‘t know what a standard pace is, what do you suggest? 6y

BookishTrish There are 32 chapters... want to aim for 4 or 8 a week to make it easy? I‘m good for either. One works out to about 50 pages a week; the other about 100. What do you prefer? 6y

callunakeep Let‘s make it 8 then, I have both the physical and kindle edition so I will always have a copy with me for those “oh look unexpected time for reading” moments!🤓 6y
