"The Egyptian Cinderella" by Shirley Climo, Illustrated by Ruth Heller (TL). This story is a spin on the classic tale of Cinderella. In this version, our Cinderella is a slave from Greece. One day Rhodopis (Cinderella) is given a pair of beautiful rose red slippers by her master. Rhodopis thought the slippers were the most beautiful things in the world, until one day a falcon swooped in from the sky and toke one of Rhodopis slippers with it.
Dbenford Rhodopis was so upset, she didn't know what to do. However, little did Rhodopis know that the falcon who toke one of her slippers was the companion of the Pharoh himself. The falcon had brought that slipper to the Pharoh. The Pharoh took one look at the slipper and declared that the owner of this slipper would become his wife and queen of all Egypt. Does the Pharoh find his queen? Will Rhodopis finally be free? You just have to read and see. 7y
Dbenford I found two links for this book www.twinkl.com/resources/story-resources/traditional-tales/cinderella and https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/The-Egyptian-Cinderella-Literacy-Uni.... The UDL I chose was 2.4 (Promote understanding across languages). The ELL strategy I chose was 45 (Use Venn diagrams to contrast and compare activities). I think that you could use this book as GR, DR, S, and RA in your classrooms. #UCLLAE3414F17 (edited) 7y
