#TenBeforeTheEnd progress is better than I would have thought when I created my original line up. Planning on finding more audiobook time because I‘ve got just under 10 hours to go on tagged book. 14 hours if I need to drop my speed. Audiocooking requires a slower speed for me. I don‘t think it will take me long to read Bookshops & Bonedust, so I think I‘m actually going to finish this challenge, which makes me feel great about wrapping up 2024.

Towles writes such immersive and engrossing historical fiction. This is set in 1938 Manhattan, a time and place when obscene wealth and obscene poverty existed side by side. It's narrated by the working-class daughter of a Russian immigrant, who finds herself on the fringes of the high life, and makes many life-changing choices that year. Not quite as endearing as A Gentleman in Moscow, but really left me thinking.

I think this was the right book for the right time. A fast romp of a read that I had put off due to all the hype. Next up Rock Paper Scissors which will likely be my last of this list and the final prompt for 52 Bookclub.

This sequel was mostly everything I wanted! The new characters were deep & engaging, the pacing kept me on the edge of my seat, & so many little references to Arthurian lore! The romance happened a little fast for me, but by the end I was all in.🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

I enjoyed these delightfully weird short stories. The first three are longer and I loved two of them. The last half of the book is made up of 100 very short stories of different “apocalypses.” Appropriate reading for these times. It was dry, funny and absurd. Thanks to #TenBeforeTheEnd for motivating me to read this as it had been on my shelf for awhile. This was Book 7 for me.
