I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

Impulse read from kindle unlimited when I wanted something fluffy with minimal angst. Decent enough story and characters. A later in life virgin gets lessons from his supposedly straight best friend. I picked it up for the author, whose other books I enjoyed. I'll probably go back to read the rest of the series at some point. This was #3 but able to read as a standalone.

repost for @RamsFan1963:

It's time for nominations for June's #ClassicLSFBC selection. Hopefully, everyone was able to get a copy of May's selection, Snow Crash, and is enjoying it. Nominations will begin today and go on until the 23rd.
I'll start the nominations with my choice, Deus Irae, written by two legends, Philp K. Dick & Roger Zelazny.

repost for @TheSpineView:

Nominations are now open to pick our June book for #LitsySciFiBookClub Please suggest one book you would like to read that falls into the Sci-Fi genre. Offshoots like Space Opera works too. Since I'm on vacation starting tomorrow, and will have little to no internet, the voting will remain open until the 23rd.

Hope everyone is coming along with May's selection, The Three Body Problem.

Fav quote of the book: "Being in love is a condition, isn't it? It's like being depressed or being in a cult. You're basically underwater--people can talk to you about life on dry land, but it doesn't really mean anything."

This book was recommended after reading A Teacher by Freida McFadden. Except this one is a 16 year old boy and his teacher. The pseudo main character Sheba may go down as one of the most unlikeable characters of all time. The actual main character is a creepy close 2nd. But it held my interest in its absurdity. I think it's a true story, too, which disturbs me further

3 ⭐This book seems to start in the middle of the story. It‘s about a young teacher who has a new assignment and she‘s going to go teach school in the middle of the Amazon. One night the rain is coming and destroys all of her books and the community helps create new ones out of cloth and embroidery. And she realizes that these books are just as important as the books she had used before. The story is nice and interesting however, it is very long.

So far, I'm confused and intrigued. On page 75. Stay tuned

I resisted this for some stupid reason, I was recommended to read this by a dear friend and I told her I would think about it. Instead, I inquired with Libby as to availability. In fact, I felt rather guilty that I displayed such a lack of enthusiasm to my friend that I immediately requested eBook and/or audio.

The audio is fantastic! I enjoyed this so much!! I laughed, I cried, I wanted to hug all the characters 🤣
