pickI love sharks! Naturally, I adore #SharkWeek— but I also love movies & books featuring sharks (even the cheesy ones!). This is definitely a more academic take that I enjoyed savoring a bit chapter by chapter as the paleontologist author moves through the history of sharks over their time on this planet. I enjoyed learning a lot about the fragments of teeth, Rosetta Stone fossilized impressions of species & how new technology has changed our view!
pickI‘ve read plenty about sharks, but this is the first time I‘ve read a book about their history. Paleontologist John Long looks all the way back through the fossil record, starting at the beginning and tracing the evolution of sharks to now. His excitement about his topic is clear in this very interesting book.
pickSharks are so beautiful & deeply misunderstood. The ocean is an incredible place & never ceases to amaze.
