pickInventive, and absorbing, and fun! I didn't want it to end. I would go on many adventures with these characters. I now get the whole 'chapter numbering thing'. 😉
I love any and all robot friends. Especially those who manage to foil dastardly plans in hilarious fashion, and/or sass the main character as frequently as necessary. 1/?
Like I realize it's a computer from the future disguised as a book, but I love the idea of sentient books having opinions about who could pick them up, and threatening violence accordingly. Kind of like cats. 😆

Had to buy another physical copy of this book because I lost my copy. How does one even loose a book this big? And no I didn‘t lend it out or leave it somewhere. Did it just sprout legs and walk away? Also this is one of my all time favorite book series.

pickWhy did I like this? I shouldn‘t have... but I did? Zelazny is better as a short story novelist for sure, he seems terrified of scene descriptors or even coherent plot structures sometimes. But his ideas are fantastic, his dialogue poetic and he isn‘t afraid to blend sci-fi and fantasy into a surreal setting.
Overall, it makes me think of future mythology and I might even read it again, now that it makes more sense.

Finally found a perfectly formatted version and added to kindle. Amazon did not have it in the complete edition and I would have had to get them book by book. Time to reread this, as it is my favorite fantasy series.

There is so much here I could gush about, but I don't want to reveal all because I want you to read it!
Great mix of scifi and fantasy. Definitely a favourite for 2024, and keeps me interested to read more Zelazny, because I keep bouncing between misses and major hits with this author! 💁🏼♂️
