Pub date 1958. Never read it before now. Adorable. Truth be told, I read it bc Hobonichi has a Paddington collection and I was curious about the book. And a fun finding was the author has my birthday!! He passed in 2017 at a ripe old age of 91. So happy I finally read it!

I think I was possessed by the spirit of Paddington yesterday when I did my post work grocery run in a pain haze…

Anyway. I‘m no closer to deciding what to have for dinner - but I have to be at work in an hour - so that‘s fun! (And then I have two days off!)

Cupcake12 I love marmalade on toast - enjoy x 4mo

The Paddington Bear 🐻 Picture Book is from #Foyles and is my present for my first niece/nephew next spring. I got the cat pin today at #waterstones, the Glossier lipstick 💄 is called „Portrait“ and the rest is from The National Gallery & state Britain. Yeah! Not included are my Christmas presents from Harrods & Selfridges from my parents.

#12BooksOf2022 @Andrew65

I'm far behind so here's a mega-post for the second half of the year.
July was the toughest month to choose because a couple other books were good. The Traveling Cat Chronicles made be ugly cry.
A Bear Called Paddington might be the best book I read this year.
Madam wins December only because I felt underwhelmed by all of the ones I read.

Andrew65 Thanks for playing along. Paddington is one of my favourite books, also brings back memories of my childhood. 2y
Susanita The Travelling Cat Chronicles also made me 😭 2y
Ruthiella The Pisces was so weird and also pretty sad, but I also loved it. 2y

Paddington is an absolute lovable, funny bear. I enjoyed reading about this marmalade-loving bear and his mishaps. Stories that put a smile on my face.. from his pleasant manners to his ‘hard stares‘. And great to read about such kindness and goodness from the Brown family and the villagers. These are the kind of stories I know I would love if I‘ve read them when I was a child.

#ChildrensClassicRead2022 for November.

Andrew65 Love this book, a favourite as a child which I read over and over again. 2y
TheBookHippie I so fell in love with this bear!!!! 🧸 2y

I haven‘t been making much progress on audiobooks lately, but I thought a short listen might be good change of pace for today. I listened to this first Padington book while I worked on a few things this morning and took the dogs (my sister‘s & my own) for a walk. It was a wonderfully entertaining and heartwarming story.

Daisey @rubyslippersreads @TheBookHippie A marmalade sandwich would have been perfect, but alas, all I had along were puppy training treats! 2y
TheBookHippie @Daisey That is how it goes for me as well usually! 2y
batsy Lovely setting for this sweet story. @rubyslippersreads yes, perfect!! 2y
Daisey @UwannaPublishme @batsy Thanks! This is on the farm where I grew up, one of my favorite places in the world. 2y
tpixie @Daisey I bet your puppy loves the farm also! 2y
Daisey @tpixie Oh, she does! I live close enough to the road that she‘s pretty much always leashed here from now until she‘s old enough and trained for the PetSafe collar. There she got some completely leash free time again! 2y
