My 3rd pandemic “Stay @ Home” order puzzle. Makes me really want to read this book and really bummed I missed out on buying the Folio Society edition when it was published. Now to search for a copy...
Done with the last book of 2019! I was very excited to read about #Mughal rule India. I enjoyed the story line but not the political drama involved. The main character Mehrunissa is very strong and author is successful in portraying her feelings and struggle. But the description of the plots were not satisfactory, either too much or too little details. Overall it‘s a good book for #historicalfiction lovers. 3⭐️ #lastread #Indian #triology
Trying to learn some non-American/European history for a change.
Excellent history of the Mughal empire including the Taj Mahal written in a simple story form. I was surprised at how much infighting there was between the Mughals and how they ruthlessly killed their own families.
Day 2 of #marchintoreading organized by @RealLifeReading While I absolutely adore William Dalrymple (I am a superfan) and will buy anything by him, I will admit that I bought this for the gorgeous #Mughal painting on its cover and the many stunning commissioned paintings reprinted in this volume. This treasure I will rescue in a fire. ❤ #judgedbyitscover
