I felt a little overwhelmed and thought some parts were convoluted, but it is a shapeshifter/fae/vampire and gazillion other creatures world so who am I to judge? I always enjoy my visits into this world in general so while this is not a favorite book in the series I‘m still happy I read it.
Adam and Mercy get married and leave for their honeymoon AND manage to have a few carefree days before otterkin and an ancient river monster ruin their fun. Mercy learns some unexpected things about her father and Native American heritage.
I really enjoyed this one. No one getting kidnapped was a nice change of pace…
Reading this series in full is one of my 2025 goals. I read this book 15+ years ago & loved it. It was borrowed from a friend at the time so I have not revisited the series since. I‘ve been itching to revisit it & have managed to collect most of the books from secondhand stores.
Since it‘s been so long, I remembered none of the plot so it was almost like reading it for the first time. So good! I love Mercy & am excited to see what she does next.

I forgot how much of a comfort read this is for me. It makes me more excited than I already was to reread the series. I think my favorite part of this first book is how Mercy stumbles into this role we see for her throughout the series just because she‘s trying to be a good person and not judging people based on the type of creature they are. And the discovery of just how powerful Walkers can be is only just starting. #reread
Bad kids smoking the whacky tobaccy in the Edwardian era.
I‘ve never read any Patricia Briggs but I know she‘s a long running paranormal author, werewolf & coyote shifters in this case.
Decent read & art but I don‘t know much of Dynamite Comics. I think they‘ve made a trend of publishing established series comics.
You all read up on Patricia Briggs & Kim Harrison? Pretty old school urban fantasy writers I assume.
I recently discovered graphic audiobooks in the last year. Now I‘m working through my old favourites (like this one) as well as new finds
What do you think of Graphic Audio “a movie in your mind”??
Another win so far. I'm only on pg 298 and I just want to re-read the whole series lol
Another great installment of a favorite series. Hard to talk about as this is book 14 of the series and a lot has happened. This was a great Winter read! 4.5⭐️
I‘m losing track of how many times Mercy has been kidnapped! This time there is a fairy queen after her for an artefact she thinks is in Mercy‘s possession but there‘s also danger for Samuel - whose suicide attempt leaves his wolf in control - danger for Adam - with challenges to his pack leadership and attempts at undermining his relationship with Mercy… all in all another great audiobook!
