This month‘s #bookclub pick led to a lively discussion! Revolving around grief, this details the brief but devoted marriage between Josh & Lauren. Told in his perspective moving forward from her funeral & hers moving back to the start of their relationship, this structure frustrated me at times because I wanted a stronger foundation for their relationship to share in the grief. But I loved the concept of the letters & tasks— an engaging listen!
I'm not sure this was the best book for me right now. I mostly enjoyed it but I don't know. Some of it seems like personal opinions on art and the future and the economy disguised as part of the narrative. And the ending really depressed me! But still, most of it was humorous and poignant and relatable so don't pay me too much mind.
Essays aren't a go-to genre for me, but a Southern girl transplanted to NYC? Sign me up. This was delightful, & the author's voice was perfect. Will definitely listen to more of her collections.
⭐⭐⭐✨/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ahh, that‘s better. (Sighs with the relief of having taken quiet refuge in a delightful, absorbing reading experience).
Marriage, or any long term romantic relationship, is hard. This cleverly written and uniquely structured short novel explores one such relationship.
A most excellent read.
Nope… not for me. My April #ReadOrDonate book is going straight to the donate pile.

I have no idea where or when I acquired this book, so I think that makes it a perfect #ReadOrDonate candidate! What will everyone else be reading?
This was such a cute and sweet manga!
The story is very interesting to say the least. Essentially, the main character, Nasa, gets saved by a mysterious girl named Tsukasa. He immediately asks her out and she says yes on the condition that he marries her. This volume primarily explores the very early days of their marriage.
