Pickpick

I enjoyed participating in the #LWReadalong! This was a book I always meant to reread since I read an abridged copy back in elementary school. It's a little funny that I think I had an abridged interpretation of it as well. Reading this as an adult, I understood both more and less of the story and the characters telling it. Similarly, the telling can feel both dated and timeless. No matter your views, this sweet little book is worth reading.

With this little volume finished today for the #HPChapterADay, it‘s time to turn another page in my new (& hopefully improved) reading journal. I‘m still working my way through What Happened, and I didn‘t even start The Princess Saves Herself poetry book, but tomorrow starts another week, and with a few of my buddy reads wrapping up maybe I can finish up some others on my TBR pile. I‘ll miss #TheNixBuddyRead and #LWReadAlong though, great groups!

Gezemice So pretty! Love those colors! 7y

Finished another 500-page classic! (And it sure beat my last one: Moby Dick 🙄) It was a first-time read for me and I really enjoyed hanging out with the March family. So much so, I've collected the movies and book sequels to continue the party. Thanks @suvata for hosting the #LWReadalong and getting me hooked on another classic author. And thx to Alcott for helping pave the way for more amazing female authors in the literature world. 🙌🏻

PurpleyPumpkin I really enjoyed this book too! Still want to read the other books in the series, but haven‘t gotten around to them yet. So many books, so little time! ⏰🕰⏳ 7y

The end. #LWReadAlong Thanks to everyone who read along!

mangokittty This picture made me giggle a little bit. All of them kind of look like Benedict Cumberbatch. 7y

mangokittty @Rachellynnwright I was like how funny. They could be related. 😆 7y

MemoirsForMe This #lwreadalong was so much fun, especially interacting with everyone and sharing insights. I wanted to read more classics this year and LW was at the top of the list. Thanks @suvata for organizing this awesome readalong and stirring our minds each week with your thought-provoking questions. 🤗🙌🏻 I enjoyed LW so much, I'll be diving into the next books in the series. I'm hungry for more Alcott now! 😊📚 7y
suvata @UwannaPublishme I‘ve been thinking of reading more Alcott myself. I‘m so glad you enjoyed the read along. 7y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yes, overall I think she did...at least until the very end where she wrapped up all the storylines in little bows quickly. But I‘m sure she never guessed she‘d get sequels at the time. 7y
suvata @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I thought so as well. She showed that life is not only sunshine and roses — it also comes with heartbreak, disappointment and death. Yeah, I think she did a great job with that. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @suvata Yes, I completely agree there. Jo‘s wrap up was the only one that seemed like a rushed happy ending to me, the Aunt, the house, and the Professor all just popped into place to quickly at the end for me, but since that seems to be who some of the future books are based on, I‘m guessing she wanted to talk more there too. 7y

A sweet classic that I had never read before, and enjoyed reading with a group. There were a few twists I didn‘t expect, but I felt at peace with the ending anyhow. I can easily see why this classic was, and still is, a favorite story of many little women through the years.

I'm behind but hoping to catch up this weekend with #LWReadAlong. Still posting these beautiful illustrations from my late grandmother's 1929 edition. #nofilter
