This was a bit confusing first, it took some time to remember what's this world and who were these characters. It could have been explained a bit more so it would have been easier to relate to the story & characters.

Soon after the beginning it was easier to feel for Coriane, who felt herself as an outsider. This had some darker undercurrents.

For a short novella this was a decent read and a bit twisted ending made it for me.

shanaqui Yay! I love KJ Charles' work. If you want to sneak in a seasonal one before Twelfth Night, there's always Masters in this Hall... though I think that one might be best appreciated after you've read the Lilywhite Boys books (or at least Any Old Diamonds).
