Another great addition to the series- solving cold crime cases and getting the baddies! Unexpected twist in this one.
#serieslove2025 6/6 up to date in this one.

#12BooksOf2024 #TrunkMusic #MichaelConnolly #November2024

This is another great Harry Bosch novel with lots of twists that kept me turning the pages until the end. I liked that his love interest from The Black Echo shows up again. That was a pleasant surprise! I love Harry's lingo and expressions and they keep me chuckling to myself. The end of the book came quickly and what a surprise that was.

Andrew65 A popular book and series. 1w

Hubby finished book, I'll read before taking back to the library. You can never go wrong with a Michael Connelly book, especially Ballard and Bosch...both Boschs in this book.

I actually finished a book, first one in days. This book has sat on my physical shelf for years so helping clear off my TBR
This was an overall enjoyable story, possibly a soft pick, but at times I felt it was overly convoluted & therefore the book was longer than it needed to be.
A few personal surprises for Bosch along the way. I find that whilst I enjoy the Bosch books it gets a bit boring with the runs in with Internal Affairs #SeriesLove2024

Andrew65 Perhaps I should tag this #UnpopularOpinion 2mo
DieAReader Sounds like the perfect time to choose what‘s #Next 🤓😉 2mo

The great thing about a Connelly book is that a bad guy get caught in the end.Renée Ballard continues to grow as a character, and her unsolved crime team gets a boost when Maddie Bosch joins the team part time.Connelly always describes in detail, neighborhoods in the L.A. area that adds interest to the story. I loved getting distracted from current events spending the weekend enjoying this book. Bosch plays a lesser though significant role as well

Yes , at least there is usually satisfaction in a Bosch Ballard book. The criminal gets caught. I need a satisfying ending this weekend.

Quick catch-up of 3 recent crime reads
The Monk - another enjoyable George Cross mystery in which the repeated question is why anyone would kill a monk. George is a great character.
The last remains-the final Ruth Galloway. Im sorry to see the end but a satisfying finale.
The Narrows- return of the poet + the tenacious Bosch is drawn into the search for this master villain who is back from the dead,+ as always Bosch and the fbi cross swords.

Another excellent entry in the Renee Ballard series. When Ballard's car is broken into at the beach, she goes after the perpetrators, resulting in a situation more complicated than she could have imagined. Meanwhile, DNA evidence pops up that could break open a legendary cold case. Tension builds as Ballard navigates her management, the volunteers at the Open/Unsolved Unit and her off the books investigation. Harry Bosch would approve.
