This book was published in 1945 & is the story of the Mitchell family. There are 5 Mitchell children who live with their mother & Grannie while their father & uncle are off fighting in the war. They get into all sorts of funny shenanigans with their club to help the war effort. A nice snapshot of American life during WWII. I‘m reading the sequel for #FoodAndLit - 4⭐️

I wasn‘t sure at first on this book, but the more I read, I started to see a full vision of what could be. I think a lot about the type of home we are creating for my kids-the environment, stretching, encouragement, etc. This book gave some excellent guidelines and ideas to help make our home a place where our kids can thrive!
Saedi masterfully depicts the delicate balance between being an American teenager and an undocumented immigrant. Visit https://wowlit.org/on-line-publications/review/xii-1/3/ for our full review, including books it will pair with!

Thank you @Eggs for the #WondrousWednesday tag! 🤗
1️⃣ I can‘t pick just one! Elf, The Holiday, Love Actually, The Family Stone & A Christmas Story are probably my top 5.🎄
2️⃣ … a hippopotamus 🦛 followed by …to be on a hit list! Hmm…🤔😆
3️⃣ I have a very old red book from childhood that has the tagged story in it. The Peterkins are “quirky” & their “problem-solving” makes me laugh so I reread it & some of the other stories most years. 📕⬇️
