#WeeklyForecast 37/24

I am reading Verona for #EuropaCollective but have a hard time finishing it, so boring and childish.
Next will be the tagged, I am excited to have learned that Piñeiro has an extensive backlist - thanks to @Suet624
The Laughter was a gift from Cindy and I have heard good things about it!

LeeRHarry I often think about Cindy when I‘m on Litsy. 💕 3mo

Not my usual type of audio ( I usually do non-fiction) I‘m obsessed with this story and because it‘s talking to me, I‘m talking back to it #europaeditions #europacollective

BarbaraBB ❤️ 9mo
jlhammar So good, isn‘t it? I did print, but felt the same—once I started I didn‘t want to do anything else (and was rather annoyed with life getting in the way)! 9mo
mcctrish @jlhammar my old phone keeps dying, I am some mad 😡 9mo
tpixie @mcctrish yes! We really need iPods to come back so we don‘t waste as much battery on our phones by listening to audiobooks for hours!!! 9mo
mcctrish @tpixie that‘s the truth 9mo

New book, new place for soccer practice ⚽️
Starting this one for #europaeditions

BarbaraBB I hope you‘ll love it! 10mo
jlhammar Yay! I‘m only five chapters in. Loving it so far. 10mo
Chelsea.Poole @jlhammar I‘m not very far into it ether. I also just started chapter 5…I had to reread a bit just to get familiar with the characters. I fear it‘ll be a sad read! (edited) 10mo

The City of the Living | Nicola Lagioia
post image

This closely based “true story of one of the most shocking crimes in recent Italian history, The City Of The Living is a spellbinding, intoxicating journey into the darkest corners of Contemporary Rome.”

Written in an easy, conversational way. It's hard to put down and filled with thrills and chills.

#WeeklyForecast 46/23

I thought the tagged book was a new one but now I notice tons of reviews below this post! Anyhow, I am looking forward to it. First I have to finish the Dutch one, which is French originally and will be translated in English too for #EuropaEditions. It‘s about child-influencers and very good.
I also want to read a classic, it‘s been awhile!

TrishB Have a good week ❤️ 13mo
squirrelbrain The Europa one sounds good! 13mo
jenniferw88 Will be interested in your opinion on Tender is the Night... 13mo

sarahbarnes I just saw the blurb from Europa about that one! And I‘ll be interested in your thoughts on the Winters. I‘ve read Golden State. 13mo
BarbaraBB @TrishB Thanks 🩷 13mo
BarbaraBB @jenniferw88 Have you read it? I think it is about time I do! 13mo
BarbaraBB @Tamra That‘s good to know, thanks for the heads-up 🩷 13mo
Ruthiella @jenniferw88 @BarbaraBB I too will be curious to get your opinion on the Fitzgerald title. 🤔 13mo
jenniferw88 Yes, it was a so-so read for me (but then I'm not too keen on this period of American literature). 13mo

#OminousOctober Day 14: These two #EuropaEditions novels seem to have a touch of #Mystery to them. Recent book haul from the Kinokuniya Dubai Warehouse sale - roughly around 5 USD each. 💕

Aimeesue I love Europa books! Honestly, it was the French flaps and the cover design that drew me in, but they do publish excellent books. ❤️ 2y

The Promise | Damon Galgut
post image

The Promise by Damon Galgut is a story about a woman, Rachel Swart who makes a promise to her Black maid, Salome. This promise will divide Rachel‘s family. This book is based in South Africa and spans 30 years. Will The Promise be kept or not? That‘s what I‘m about to find out…

Have you read this book yet? It won the 2021 Booker Prize.

I might have a problem....
#europaeditions #mttbr #readaroundtheworld

PurpleTulipGirl I see no signs of a problem here. Unless it‘s that there aren‘t enough books. 🤔 4y
ManyWordsLater @PurpleTulipGirl you‘re right. It‘s more like I have a type. 4y
vivastory What are your fave Europa Editions? (Aside from Ferrante who I have on my TBR) I'm currently reading Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree, & just ordered Theory of Bastards & Disoriental. 4y
ManyWordsLater @vivastory I love Domenico Starnone (trick, ties) and Disoriental by Négar djavadi. It‘s still on my TBR but my sister and mom loved Chantel Acevedo‘s The Distant Marvels. And of course Hiromi Kawakami‘s the ten loves and nishino and the Nakano thrift shop. 4y
vivastory Thanks for the recommendations! I had Kawakami's Strange Weather on my TBR. The others have been added to my TBR. i REALLY APPRECIATE IT. 4y
